Kuroko (“the app”) is a task, project, and time-tracking app for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Summary
Kuroko does not collect, sell, or share your personal data with us or any third party. We do not operate any servers that receive your data. All information you create in the app — projects, tasks, time entries, and notes — is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud account.
Data We Do Not Collect
We, the developer, have no access to any of the following. Kuroko does not include analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not transmit your data to us or any third party.
Data Stored On Your Device and Your iCloud
- Projects, tasks, and time entries you create are stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- iCloud sync is optional. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your private CloudKit database,
iCloud.kuro.kuroko, which is tied to your personal iCloud account and encrypted/managed by Apple. We do not have access to this data. It is never sent to our servers because we do not operate any.
Permissions the App May Request
Kuroko requests the following permissions, used only for the stated purpose and only on your device:
- Microphone and Speech Recognition — used to transcribe your voice commands to the built-in AI assistant. Voice processing uses Apple’s on-device Speech and Foundation Models frameworks; audio is not sent to us.
- Calendar — used, with your permission, to create and update calendar events corresponding to task due dates. Kuroko only writes or reads events it needs for this feature.
- Push Notifications — used to support notifications related to your tasks, such as reminders, and to enable CloudKit sync updates. Notification tokens are managed by Apple’s push notification service and CloudKit; we do not operate a notification server.
You can deny or revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings, though some features, such as voice commands and calendar sync, will not work without them.
Third-Party Services
Kuroko does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third party involved in handling your data is Apple, via iCloud/CloudKit for optional sync, Speech framework for on-device voice transcription, and standard OS services such as Calendar and Notifications.
Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple handles data through these services.
Children’s Privacy
Kuroko is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Data Deletion
Because all data lives on your device and/or your personal iCloud account, you control deletion entirely. Delete the app to remove local data, and use your iCloud settings to remove any synced data from iCloud.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
